Vision, Values and Ethos
‘Let Your Light Shine Before Men, That. They May See Your Good Works, And. Glorify Your Father Which Is In Heaven.’ Matthew 5:16
Our school vision starts with our values, from which all else flows – Friendship, Creativity, Aspiration, Achievement and Teamwork – creating an environment where everyone can shine.

Our core values of Friendship, Creativity, Aspiration, Achievement and Teamwork thread through everything that everyone does which enables every member of our school family to flourish and shine. Through working with our stakeholders in the summer term of 2019, we have linked these values to known bible stories giving our pupils a context and reference to pin these to.
Through our whole School Values Plan, (please click on the link below) we carefully link all the values that we know are special and important to us in order to maximise on contextual learning and opportunities to deepen our understanding.
We worked with all stakeholders and gathered their feedback to inform the continuous development of our provision, curriculum and vision. We asked questions such as, ‘What are the strengths of our school?’ ‘How do you feel we live out our values?’ ‘What should the future of our school be like?’ ‘Which stories could we link our values to?’ and ‘How do we live out the C of E vision of enabling our pupils to ‘live life in all its fullness?”
Our school’s behaviour policy, curriculum, rewards systems, links with the community, approach to pastoral care and extra-curricular provision are just some of the ways in which we embrace, celebrate and live out our values and ultimate aim of being a school where everyone shines.
Each week children are recognised with a ‘Shine Award’, pupils enjoy ‘Shine Time’ with their peers where they celebrate their achievements and reflect on their learning. Through stickers, celebratory displays and sharing with the community we shout from the rooftops that children here at King Charles can and do shine.
Come and visit us. Come and see our whole school shine.
