Our School Dog

Coco

School Dog

Coco helps students build self-esteem; learn about positive and negative reinforcement, responsibility, and
boundaries. She also helps with communication, teaches kindness, and empowers students.

With Coco in school, students have the opportunity to learn how to care for her. This includes
walking and grooming. Researchers report that involving students in the daily care of dogs is
a positive experience, promoting their own daily care. The students also learn about responsibility,
caring, and sharing when helping each other take care of her.

Coco is owned by Mr Moscato and very much enjoys her time in school.

Our school dog policy and full risk assessment can be viewed on the policies page of the school website.
